Commissioning of INS Vela, Mumbai

25 November 2021

On 25 November 2021, INS Vela, the fourth of the P75 Kalvari-class submarine, was commissioned in presence of Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC and several other dignitaries including Naval Group's Executive Vice President for International Development, Mr Alain Guillou and the local teams.
INS Vela is totally built by Indian shipyard Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) based on the French Scorpene® design.
Two submarines commissioned the same year is a milestone and a testimony of the successful absorption of the technology transfer by MDL.

Commissioning of INS Karanj, Mumbai

10 March 2021

On 10 March 2021, INS Karanj, the third of the P75 Kalvari-class submarine, was commissioned by the hands of former Chief of Naval Staff Admiral V S Shekhawat, PVSM, AVSM, VrC (Retd.)
The event marked the presence of Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, FOC-in-C (West) VAdm R Hari Kumar, CWP&A VAdm Sandeep Naithani, CMD MDL VAdm Narayan Prasad (Retd.) and several other dignitaries.
INS Karanj is totally built by Indian shipyard Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) based on the French Scorpene® design.

Launch of Vagir, Mumbai

12th November 2020

On Nov 12th 2020, Vagir, the fifth of P75 SCORPENE®-class submarine, totally built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in partnership with Naval Group was launched by Smt Vijaya Shripad Naik, wife of Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Defence.
This event highlights the success of indigenous submarines construction programme and strategic Indo-French partnership.
Naval Group India's Project Office Director Mr Francois-Xavier Briffod attended the event.

Pierre Éric Pommellet becomes Chairman and CEO of Naval Group

The President of the Republic has ratified the proposal made by Naval Group’s Board of Directors to appoint Pierre Éric Pommellet as Chairman of the group’s Board of Directors and to delegate to him the duties of Chief Executive Officer.
Pierre Éric Pommellet said: “It is an honour and an immense pride to serve Naval Group, a 400-year-old and now international and forward-looking company".

DEFEXPO 2020, Lucknow

03 to 09 February 2020

Naval Group showcased important defence products such as SMX 3.0 submarine, F21 Torpedo, Belh@rra & Naval Xplore.
This event was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and other dignitaries as well.
Naval Group won the prestigious Aerospace and Defense Award for the "Best Foreign OEM supporting Make in India".
Naval Group was honoured to have the visit of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, H.E French Ambassador to India, Chief of Materiel and many others on our pavillion during Defexpo.
Naval Group hosted an Industry interaction to enhance important industrial alliances with key Indian partners for future projects.

From 3rd to 5th October 2019, Naval Group exhibits at SMM INMEX in Mumbai, the international trade show and conference for the Shipping and Maritime Industry in India.
Naval Group showcased high tech naval equipments like Propulsion system, Gearboxes, Landing Grid, Vertical launching system-SYLVER, Heat Exchangers and other capabilities.
The event had various discussion on future projects with our customers - Indian Navy and Indian MSMEs.

COMMISSIONING OF INS KHANDERI, MUMBAI

28 September 2019

On 28 September 2019, INS Khanderi, the second of P75 SCORPENE®-class submarine, was commissioned by the hands of Hon'ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.
The event marked the presence of Union Minister of State for Defence Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Arvind Sawant, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, CMD MDL Commodore Rakesh Anand (IN Retd.) and several other dignitaries.
Naval Group's Executive Vice President Programmes Mr Olivier DL Bourdonnaye and Consulate General of France in Mumbai Mrs Sonia Barbary also attended the event.
